Northern Part of the Island

The northern part of the island guarantees beautiful scenery and unforgettable landscapes. The itinerary, including a visit to the Praia dos Ingleses (Englishmen’s Beach), allows visitors to see the ocean with calm, green-hued waters. In addition to the beach, the tourist can also enjoy the Mirante da Cachoeira (Waterfall Look-out), the Bom Jesus Waterfall, the Lookout at Brava Beach and the beaches of Lagoinha and Ponta das Canas, a location with a fishing village and good restaurants on the beach. On Canasvieiras Beach, the differential is the warm water, which ranges from 23°C to 26°C (73°F to 79°F) in the summer.

Continuing the trip, you will visit Cana Jure, Jurerê Traditional, and Jurerê International, which are very close to the São José da Ponta Grossa Fort. The fort has been restored and offers a veritable history lesson about the 17th and 18th centuries. The fort still has cannons that have never been used.

In addition to the beautiful beaches, the visitor will also visit the Carijós Ecological Station and Santo Antonio de Lisboa. As a final treat, we will visit the Historic Downtown area.

Costa da Lagoa and Joaquina

To get to know this beautiful location, visitors start the excursion at the Rio Vermelho (Red River), following it to the Rio Vermelho Forest Park, with a stop at the Lacustre Terminal. This is the starting point for a delightful boat ride along the coast of the lagoon, lasting approximately 50 minutes. Afterwards, the group continues on to the Ponto de Vista Lookout, and finishes the trip with a look at Praia Mole (Soft Beach) – a traditional point for the Island’s youths – which earned this name due to the loose and soft sand. The beach is visited mainly by surfers and paragliders, who use the southern hill as a take-off ramp.

Before returning to the hotel, the group will visit Joaquina Beach, a paradise for surfers since the 1970s, when it was discovered by surfers from around the world. Since then, various surfing tournaments have begun to sprout up, spreading the name of Joaquina Beach to the four corners of the world. The cluster of rocks to the left, the nighttime illumination, and the public shower facilities are some of the trademarks of this paradise.

City Tour

For those who want to know the entire city and its historic curiosities, this is the trip for you. The excursion begins at the Jurerê International Beach and then moves to the Downtown area of the city, with a stop for visiting. The Public Market is an important historical-cultural mark of the city and is located in the heart of the historical downtown area. The Public Market is a stage for artists, bohemians, and intellectuals, where the best fresh fish is found, in addition to restaurants for experimenting special delicacies and enjoying a casual, joyous, and colorful atmosphere. The trip continues to the Largo da Alfândega, Praça XV de Novembro (with a Fig tree), the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Victor Meireles House, and the Cruz e Souza Palace (Historic Museum of Santa Catarina).

Next, you’ll visit the Conceição Lagoon and the lookout from Hercílio Luz Bridge, one of the most important picture postcards of Florianópolis and which, for many years, was the only connection between the mainland and the Island. Construction on the Bridge began in 1922. It was concluded four years later. It is the only survivor of its type, and one of the largest suspension bridges in the world, being a half-mile long and having two towers that extend 246 feet above the water. An important textile center, those who know the city can’t miss the opportunity to stop and shop for knitwear from Blumenau. On this trip, the group will also visit the Lagoon Lookout (Journalist Manoel de Menezes), the Avenida das Rendeiras (Lace Makers Avenue), Joaquina Beach, Praia Mole, and the Ponto de Vista Lookout.
